Project

An MSc program in Oil and Gas Technology will be established at the UDSM in collaboration with NTNU. The MSc program targets building of local training and research capacities at UDSM. The program is complementary to the ANTHEI programme, focusing more on downstream oil and gas technology. With discoveries in excess of 55TcF of gas in Tanzania, the oil and gas sector in the region is in strong demand of work force. Downstream issues offer numerous employment opportunities for local population. Capacity building under this project include training of UDSM staff as well as acquiring of laboratory facilities.

Project goal/overall purpose:

Establishing an operational Msc program to enable UDSM to better meet the needs of the emerging oil and gas technology in Tanzania.

The programme targets at four (4) outputs:

  • To establish a MSc program in Oil and Gas Technology at UDSM To strengthen the Research Infrastructure Development,
  • Institutional development by trainig UDSM staff and acquiring laboratory facilities
  • Strengthening Regional Collaboration by contributing to the further adaption of the MSc programme to other HEI in the region
